CHARACTER INFORMATION

NAME: Jack the Ripper / False Berserker
CANON: Fate/strange Fake
CANON REFERENCE: Wiki page
CANON POINT: end of volume 6
CRAU HISTORY: n/a
AGE: As a Heroic Spirit and as the personification of a legend, they are technically ageless. The body they're taking a form of is about 19.
APPEARANCE: Due to their skill Thousand Faces, they are technically capable of assuming any form, so long as it is believed by someone to have been Jack the Ripper. This includes not only human beings, but some inanimate objects and animals.

In this case, however, they are taking the form of their Master, Flat Escardos, due to how them and their Master's souls were mixed for the purpose of letting Jack become a perfect copy of their Master. They're blond and with blue eyes. They have the appearance of a young man of about 19 years that's a lean 173cm/5'8 and 56kg/123lb. A reference.
CONTRACT PAYMENT: To bring Flat Escardos back to life, safe and sound.

QUESTIONNAIRE:
How important is loyalty to you? What does it take to earn your loyalty? What extents are you willing to go through to maintain loyalty, and respect the loyalty others might have invested in you?
[ there's a gentle, thoughtful hum at the question. blue eyes look to the side, unable to look at their interviewer as they think of an answer. the thought of loyalty is a heavy one for them--not just because of their status as a servant, but because the loss of their master still stings all too painfully.

they sigh, rubbing the back of their neck tiredly as they look up, an answer in mind. ]

Loyalty is the most important part of any relationship, no? Matters not whether it's a personal or business relationship, because in the end it all deals with people, correct? Knowing that a friend won't turn their back on you...that a spouse won't cheat on you...or that your subordinate can do their job right. Those are all forms of loyalty.

[ they cross their arms against their chest, a small, pleasant smile on their face as they continue. ]

However, I would like to believe that loyalty is a street that goes both ways. To earn my loyalty, they must also be loyal, too. Perhaps not to me, but to their beliefs and morals. It is alright if they waver, but it is that integrity that I would like to see in a person.

[ their master would be the best example. of course, the whims of the grail don't allow them to remember any other previous masters, if they've ever had any. but being able to have that singular example is good enough for the servant. it serves as a model to work with.

and, perhaps, a standard that will not be easily achieved. ]

If someone is loyal to me, then I will cherish it the way that one would cherish a diamond. Yes...if someone were to be loyal to me, then I'd have no other option but to be loyal to them, too, right? Ah, but that doesn't seem likely. Once they know what I am...

What are your greatest regrets, if you have any? What would you have done differently?

I failed to protect the one person that I had to protect.

[ it's said in an emotionless tone, as if any and all warmth had been ripped from their self. but after they say that, the remorse floods back into their eyes, and they have to look away. with arms still crossed, they barely realize that their nails are digging into the exposed skin. ]

I was too weak to protect them, and they died. Maybe if I had been more forceful in trying to keep them away from Saber's Master, or if I had transformed a few seconds sooner...

[ jack's voice dies off, and they lock their jaw to keep their expression from breaking. remorse, sadness, and anger all mix together in a flame that dies out into resignation as soon as its ignited. ]

No. There's probably nothing that I could have done differently. There really was no controlling that hapless genius that was my Master.

Your Faction leader, not just your boss but the leader, has asked you to carry out a hit. The target is a non-affiliated public leader, well-liked by the people of the city. Do you carry it out? Why or why not?

[ finally. an easy question. ]

Well, I don't see why I wouldn't. My existence is synonymous with slaughter and murder, and assassination is just another form of it. If my leader wishes for me to do it, then I'll carry it out.

[ they pause. ah, wait, there is something. ]

Though maybe I would see if there's something that can be done about my...ahem...abilities? I can make do with what I have, but... [ they gesture to themselves. more specifically, the body and face that they're wearing right now. ] This current body that I'm stuck in is not suited for assassination as it is right now.

What is your favorite diversion? Hobbies, indulgences, vices? Would you put off important things for that diversion, or would you be more strict about how you spend your time and/or money?

[ jack gives a quick half shrug. when they respond, it's in a nonchalant tone. ]

While it is always good to have time for hobbies and the like, it is always necessary to have your priorities firmly set. 'Idleness is only the refuge of weak minds,' or so they say. Therefore, it'd be unwise to push more important things to the side for the sake of your own self-indulgence.

[ once they say that, they pause for a second, and their lips turn into a small, wistful smile. ]

But sometimes... taking a break every once in a while wouldn't be too bad. Just to enjoy the scenery.

    POWERS & ABILITIES:
As a Servant, Jack holds a series of skills, which are personal abilities, and two Noble Phantasms, which serve as their more powerful special abilities.

      Personal Skills
    1. Wanderer of the Misty Night: This skill, when activated, allows Jack to wander mostly undetected as long as it's night time. This skill can't be activated throughout the daytime, and anyone with a high enough ability to sense presences might be able to detect them.

    2. Thousand Faces: A skill that allows Jack to transform into anything and anyone that might have been presented as the identity of Jack the Ripper. Along with this, they are able to gain the skills of the person or thing that they are transforming into up to a rank E. In layman's terms, this means that if they turned into, say, Gordon Ramsey, they would be a pretty darn good cook, but not to the level of the seven Michelin star winner chef. If they are transforming into a particular person, they are also able to gain surface level knowledge and memories that the person has as well, but nothing too detailed. This skill has allowed Jack to transform into not only humans, but also animals, and even inanimate objects. In fact, they spend most of their time in canon as a steampunk watch.

Due to canon events, however, the one person that they can copy perfectly is none other than their Master, Flat Escardos. With his Master's soul and their essence as a 'Killer' mixed together, they were able to force the idea that 'Flat Escardos is Jack the Ripper'. This is why they would be entering the game with Flat Escardos' appearance.

    3. Noble Phantasms
    4. From Hell: A crystallization of the theory that, perhaps, Jack the Ripper's identity was actually a demon from Hell. Not only does it transform Jack into a Demon, but also their surroundings into a comical version of Hell. Its power varies with when and where it is deployed, since it feeds off of the latent fear of demons. If deployed in a rather crowded area, it becomes powerful enough to face off any of the Knight Class Servants (Saber, Lancer, and Archer). However, Jack does not have access to this Noble Phantasm, since it was quite literally ripped (haha. get it) away from them.

    5. Natural Born Killers: A crystallization of the theory that, perhaps, Jack the Ripper's identity was actually a group of people. It allows Jack the Ripper to create multiple copies of themselves. The last copy standing is said to be the main body but, because of that, each copy can also be considered the main body as they all share the same amount of strength and knowledge. The amount of copies that they can create varies wildly depending on their Master and the amount of energy that they can have. With the previous Master, for example, they were able to create about 500 copies of themselves. Obviously being without a Master would mean that the amount they could theoretically make is way less.

    SUITABILITY:
As someone whose legend includes the theory that they are a demon from Hell, I simply cannot imagine a better place for Jack the Ripper. While they may not truly be the mysterious serial killer, but a compilation of the theories, legends, and fanatics that blossomed after the horrific Whitechapel murders, they are fully aware of their status as an enshrinement of madness and insanity. Such is the reason that they were eligible for the Berserker class, the class of the maddened warriors. They're well aware of the dark side of any society, because they themselves embody violence and bloodshed. As something whose essence can be summed into "Killer", they would have no trouble adjusting into the dark themes of the games.

    FACTION SUITABILITY:
    Shuten Clan
As a self-proclaimed demon, Jack would see little problem fitting in with the Oni of the Shuten Clan. While they themselves do not indulge in the insanity that their Servant class is known for, the Berserker class is known to be the most offensive-oriented class out of all the 7 main classes. Most Berserker class Servants will give up their sanity for the sake of power, making them one of the most dangerous opponents to fight. And while Jack may seem sane, the truth is that their insanity is simply sealed off. Nevertheless, as a "person" they are frank with their words and opinions, acting in a mostly straightforward manner. Despite their status as the legend of a serial killer, they know the weight that it carries and, thus, hold themselves to high standards as they constantly hold themselves back from acting impulsively or going on a rampage, to the point that they attempt to make their Master promise that, if they were to lose their mind, then he should order them to destroy themselves.

    Tamamo Clan
The kitsune are youkai that are known for transformation--in that sense, Jack would probably fit in as well. Due to their instincts as a killer, they are capable of being cunning and sneaky, making things such as infiltrations nothing short of a cakewalk for them. But while they can transform into almost anything that the other party wishes them to be, at the end of the day, the truth is that what Jack wishes to be is...themselves. While part of this means finding the true identity of the serial killer known as Jack the Ripper, it also means being being true to themselves as this current Jack the Ripper, Servant of Flat Escardos. While they themselves may not be something that could be described as fun-loving, free-spirited, or even as someone who wants to be loved, Jack's Master was. And though the relationship between them was little more than 4 days...with the face that Jack has now, they would love nothing more than to uphold that which would describe the person that they so tragically lost.

    Sutoku Alliance
Due to their skillset, Jack is someone that thrives best in things such as information gathering. As mentioned previously, transforming into someone in particular allows them to read certain surface memories, and even copy their mannerisms and skills to a certain degree. And, similar to the Daitengu, whose identity is unknown, Jack is a being of mystery as well, having no real appearance of their own. And as their Master had once mentioned-- because Jack is no one, they can be anyone. They know all too well what it's like to be an underdog as well, as they largely lack the strength that most other Berserker class Servants would have, even before having their soul quite literally ripped in half. Even then, they never waver-- though not necessarily normal, they too have an honor code that they stick to. And, besides, nothing suits them better than fighting from the shadows, unseen and undetected.

    Department of the Enma
While Jack, as the crystallization of the legend and theories surrounding Jack the Ripper, could and should be the pinnacle of insanity and madness as a Berserker, it turns out that it's the exact opposite. Having their Madness Enhancement sealed at the time of summoning, Jack the Ripper is cool-headed and rational and often the voice of reason within the Master-Servant duo. They understand the need for, and prefer order above most other things. Their sense of morality and justice are also quite strong, especially for something that's born from a being that lacked either of those things. As a killer, however, they would not be against having to exact violence in order to maintain peace and justice, if that is what their leader ordered them to do.
